center for pastoral leadership - wickliffe, ohio
The new paint scheme at Center for Pastoral Leadership has a warm palette, highlighting the architectural details in the chapel. The T-shaped chapel has three large arches that frame in the sanctuary. These arches were decorated with a repeating stencil pattern. The blue ceiling and blue domed arch backdrop have constellation patterns with custom painted stars. The Apse stars are a representation of the sky looking east from Jerusalem on March 25, 0000 at 7:00am - a moment chosen as the Annunciation - nine months before the first Christmas. The ceiling stars are a representation of the sky looking directly up from Rome on April 23, 1847 at 6:00am, when the Diocese of Cleveland was founded. Side shrines and trim were faux painted in woodgrain to match the new Reredos.
